Building Acoustics Consultancy

We take on consultancy work at all levels from brief high level design reviews, to a full design service from concept design through to construction following the RIBA plan of work. Design advice is typically delivered by annotated drawings, detail sketches, technical memo and acoustic design report.

We are able to provide building acoustic design advice for most types of buildings including:

Environmental Noise Assessments

We undertake noise impact assessments to support planning applications for developments in most sectors including residential, commercial, leisure and industrial in accordance with Local Authority requirements and the relevant national standard and guidance documents including ProPG, BS8233 and BS4142.

SITMA - The Sound Insulation Testing and Measurement Association

Approved Document E Sound Testing

We undertake Building Regulations Approved Document E Pre-completion sound testing of residential properties as member of the SITMA registration scheme. and provide test reports and certificates for Building Control sign off.

We have over 19 years experience in carrying out Approved Document E sound testing on all construction types, and providing new build design advice or remedial treatments for separating walls and floors to meet Building Regulations requirements.

Building Compliance Testing

We can carry out acoustic compliance testing to satisfy the requirements of Local Authority criteria, BB93 for schools, BREEAM Hea 05 / Pol 05, HTM 08-01, BS8233, British Council for Offices (BCO), amongst others.

We undertake airborne and impact sound insulation testing, reverberation time measurements, indoor ambient sound level measurements and building services/plant sound level measurements.

Baseline Noise Survey Monitoring Equipment

Baseline Noise Surveys

We undertake environmental noise surveys and monitoring to establish baseline sound levels to support noise assessments, planning condition compliance.

Work Place Noise Assessments

We undertake small to medium size work place noise assessments and compare employee noise exposure to the noise at work regulations.
